a few years back we decided to organize and participate in the Hubspot user space, specifically, we organized our very own Hubspot User Group (or HUG) for San Diego, now known as SD Inbound. In short, SD Inbound is a gathering of Inbound Marketers, who want to master the Hubspot platform and push the world of marketing forward. In turn, building content that attracts users instead of interrupting their web experience (a pillar of Inbound) accomplishes this goal.
What started two years ago as a small gathering of fewer than ten individuals grew steadily with each meetup we hosted. With events such Inbound Marketing Week, meetups with outstanding presentations by experts in the marketing field, and some good old fashioned guerrilla marketing, we began to grow.
Continued growth over the years led to us relocating into one of San Diego’s premier micro brewery’s: Stone Brewing. This venue at Liberty Station served as a catalyst for continued growth and today, we’re proud to say attendance is the largest in the world!
From here, following what we do for a living here at Campaign Creators, we decided a little re-branding was in order. So, given our level of expertise in the field and the resources at hand, here’s what we did to re-brand SDHUG as the new SD Inbound.
Headed up by Hansen Hunt and Nicole Pereira, their vision was to promote Inbound while gaining autonomy within the group. Though SD Inbound still has ties to its parent Hubspot User Group, the goal is to focus more on Inbound Marketing within the greater San Diego area and highlight certain events, speakers, and businesses within the Inbound Marketing space.
We conducted the transformation completely in-house thanks to our brilliant team here at Campaign Creators. No department was left out of this transformation, and we were more than excited to influence this re-branding effort and make Hansen and Nicole’s vision a reality.
The design strategy for the brand consisted of developing a logo that represented the autonomy the group while subconsciously hinting at its origins (Hubspot). From here, we completely re-designed the website, now SDInbound.com, and incorporated this notion of autonomy into the web design. In essence, what we present now is a site on Inbound Marketing that is specific to San Diego proper and the people, business, and events that occur within that space.
